Main nutritional resources: rice
Rice was brought to Spain by the Arabs. Its cultivation in the lagoon of Valencia (Albufera) and other parts of the country like the Ebro delta (Cataluña) or RietVell (Aragón). Artisanal rice crop shown in the image, helps towards the preservation of the wetlands and the birds which live there, so nowadays these crops receive special subsidies from the EU, if they meet certain conditions.
