 Complex indicator of relative poverty (ERPE/AROPE)

People at risk from Relative poverty cover their basic nutritional needs, but cannot adequately meet other daily needs which are got with money. This is evaluated with the AROPE indicator (people at risk of poverty and or social exclusion), and include people who suffer one of the following three situations: having a low income (60% of the average income equivalent to unit of consumption), having severe material deficiencies (4 of the following 9 cases: unable to go on holiday, unable to eat meat, chicken or fish every two days, unable to heat their home, unable to have a car, washing machine or telephone, or not having 650 euros for unforeseen expenses) and/or living in household with very low employment intensity (less than 20% del of the total work potential for the year before the interview).
