The goat that lived before Christ
In a bas-relief found in the Museum of Ancient Ostia (Lazio) (dated approximately around the second century B.C.) a goat with divergent flat section horns is noticeable. Together with the preceding iconographic evidence from Villa Adriana in Tivoli, this bas-relief further suggests that different typologies of horns have always coexisted. Then, through time, certain typologies might have become more popular and widespread within specific cultural and geographical contexts.
