Post production tasks: grinding (Peru)

Women have ground cereal grain at home to get flour for making tortitas, bread, cakes or pasta, using different tools, some of them for daily use, such as the mealing stone used by the woman in the picture, which provides enough flour for daily family consumption.

Wind or water mills allowed more flour to be obtained more quickly, thus saving women from hard physical work.
