Main nutritional resources: wheat
Wheat was traditionally a rainfed (unirrigated) product which has become mainly irrigated. Castilla y León, produces the two most common varieties of wheat, with a very important crop of durum wheat (Triticumdurum), used both for animal feed and for making starch and ethanol.
Andalusia produces the major part of common wheat (Triticum aestivum), basically used for human consumption to make flour for bread, pasta and baking.
