Hugging a tree

Nature is very important to us. Nasko, one of the most regular visitors to the Kukuryak meetings, has a deep connection to it. On the group’s outing to Druzhba, a suburb of Sofia, one of the first photos he asked to have taken was of him hugging a tree.

By hugging the birch tree, he draws energy from it. «I meditate, I seek peace,» says Nasko. This is how he immerses himself in nature. This moment is very special to him. «I have only partially and temporarily come into contact with nature,» he says. This is a regular practice for Nasko, his ritual. He does it at every appropriate moment when he is surrounded by nature. The most famous moments are when he hugged 80-year-old chestnut trees on construction sites, shortly before they were cut down, as a last encounter.
