Women from the Hmong tribe in northern Vietnam take a break during a hike through the hills around Sa Pa, one of the main market towns in the region and a popular tourist destination among trekkers and independent travellers. Known for its rice terraces, stunning sceneries, and rich cultural traditions, Sa Pa is a quiet mountain town and home to a great diversity of ethnic minority communities. Hmong women often work as tour guides, taking tourists on multi-day trekking expeditions that include homestays at local villages.
