Svay Rieng

Carrying buckets of food and water, an elderly woman walks through a muddy road on her way back home. Cambodia is ranked one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to climate change. Most Cambodians rely on subsistence farming, and the changes to the country’s climate, leading to more droughts or floods, can have a devastating impact on their livelihoods. The country has also weak institutions and little means to design and implement mitigation and adaptation strategies. Women are impacted the hardest, facing higher risks and greater burdens in situations of poverty.
