‘Patines de cachurros’ (cachurro skates)

This is another toy made with simple materials, totally sustainable as it re-uses old tins and some string, allowing children to play with some low-cost mini-stilts.

Two bits of string are attached to each tin and you hold the string in your hands, standing on the tins and using them like stilts. The tins are re-used food tins and any old string will do, as long as it is strong.

You could play with them in different ways: races, difficult circuits, uphill, up steps and even crossing streams without getting your feet wet.

This game helps to improve balance, stability and coordination at a time when children are developing physically and mentally.
