Fruits and vegetables at our doorstep

The Barrio da Cova da Moura is located within the municipalities of Damaia and Buraca (Lisbon Metro Area), Portugal. It is the home of over 5,000 people, mostly of Cabo-Verdean origin. Cova da Moura is officially designated a degraded neighborhood, with most houses lacking building permissions, planning and basic infrastructures. However, the Cabo-Verdean community is active in preserving and disseminating the Cabo-Verdean culture. Inside the neighbourhood there are several vending spots that carry fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as corn, other grains and pulses. These provide healthy choices, at affordable prices.
