Domestic miniature

As we can see, this toy is a representation of the furniture in the living room of a house and was used to decorate and play with dolls houses. It is made with simple materials, materials used on a daily basis, like pine wood (easy to shape) and cotton cloth for cushions and lampshades.

There are dolls houses of different kinds for children, but also for collectors and aficionados, ranging from prefabricated and predecorated ones to personalised ones decorated to one´s own tastes. The simplest designs are boxes piled on top of each other in the manner of rooms. The miniature objects used for decorating the interior of dolls houses include furniture, ornaments, dolls, and things like books, sofas, wallpaper and even clocks. These houses and articles can be made by hand.

Nowadays, there are many fans of dolls houses. Usually, to recreate scenes in miniature, a scale of 1:12 is used and also handcrafted miniatures using polymerized paste, although they can also be fashioned out of wood.
