Resin pines
Tabuyo del Monte was a village rich in maritime (resin) pines which were communal property, worked by most of the locals until the end of the 20th century, when the young people had migrated and the older generations retired.
After around twenty years of abandonment, a group of young people, of local origin, who have studied as forestry technicians and engineers, have decided to earn a living and a future for their families by returning to the pine forest and the countryside. They have rented an area of communal pinewood from the council to collect resin. Resin is used for cosmetics, among other things.
