Kukuryaks

This is our team, Kukuryak, with some of our members and volunteers.

Our exhibition includes photos taken by Svetla, Tsveti, Maria, Nasko, Galya, and Krassi (some of whom are not in the photo). All of us, along with other members such as Cornelia, Lilia, Vasil, Grigori, and Ivan, participated in creating the texts for the exhibition.

Our team meets once a week at the office of ATD Fourth World, where, together with the Foundation Za Nadejda and volunteers, we create a place for human contact and friendly relationships over a cup of tea or coffee. Here we develop cultural projects and activities such as knitting, watching movies, computer literacy, listening to or playing music, civil rights activism, walks, and photo exhibitions like this one.

Kukuryak is a place for sharing feelings, where we relax from the demands of everyday life and also support each other. We take initiatives and fight for basic rights such as access to public showers, bathrooms, and a social center. We discuss important topics and listen to each other. We learn what is happening in the world and develop skills. We practice different languages. Sometimes we even find peace of mind.
