 Fibres and textiles: cotton

Cotton is spindled and woven in large textile industries and is the basis of many garments around the world. China, India and the USA top the list of producing countries.

Dress with blue shoulder straps, with purple and blue flower prints. Made from components from plant and animal biodiversity: cotton and whalebone. It has a cut at the hip and has a petticoat to give volume; design by Laura Ashley.
