Death during delivery (Mexico)

Death during delivery was considered an act of bravery for women, rewarded by the gods in the same way men were rewarded for dying in battle. In Aztec mythology, Cihuateotl represented women who died during delivery who accompany the Sun with dances and songs from dawn to dusk.
