Businesses involved in development programmes for women

Some international cosmetic companies are investing in countries like Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Sudan to contribute to the development of women. A tree (Mangifolia) can be found in these countries from which karite butter is obtained, and this is the base for making facial cosmetics.

In Burkina Faso women’s participation in the workforce is 76.6%, compared with 90.7% for men, and over 15,ooo women work in the manufacture of this product.
