Biological medium, environmental health and growth

Between 1990 and 2015 the global proportion of starving people in the world halved, with big differences between countries at continuous risk of regression due to armed conflicts, climate change and recurrent natural disasters.

In 2015 Benin, like other African countries, has high rates of retarded growth in under 5s (34%), determined by nutritional shortages which are aggravated by child labour at this age, generally in farm work to help the family economy. This affects 16% of girls and 15% of boys.
