Wool and textile industry

For industrial production of woollen blankets and carpets, different machines were used. Those known as Jaquard machines, had large perforated cards with the different designs on them. In Val de san Lorenzo they were used in several family textile businesses and, until a few years ago, there was an expert in Valencia who designed the perforated cards and repaired them when they got damaged. Following his death, the use of these looms had had to stop.
