The ‘Humus Film Fest’

We soon found out that there is a lot of art on our allotment with the first «Nights on the allotment». But we were not aware of the creativity hidden inside us which never has a chance to get out. And this is another marvel of the allotment. It offers that chance. Someone says: why don´t we do «so-and-so»?  And «so-and-so» gets done. The idea becomes an enriched script, the props are made in a flash, actors and actresses spring up out of nowhere with a natural talent for marvellous acting.

And those «so-and-sos» became a load of performances in «Nights on the allotment». From the goddesses of the earth to vegetables fighting with evil speculators. Even the tale of the wolf-tomato expelled from the allotment due to its misbehaviour. And also, a lot of videos to promote «Nights on the allotment». These remain for posterity on our YouTube channel if anyone wants to enjoy them.

Shortly before the famous pandemic, we recorded a video for the Humus Film Fest, a festival organised by the Madrid Network of Allotments for the allotment community. We didn´t win the festival, but we spent a fun day recording the different scenes and, of course, we all had lunch together. Around 40 people aged 10 to 80 took part in the video.
