A man walks past a street art mural decorating the walls of an old house in the bohemian and romantic district of Barranco. Home and working place of many Peru’s leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers, it is also known within the surfing community for its good and consistent waves. The name Barranco (ravine) refers to its topography featuring colonial houses and restaurants in and around a ravine near a cliff overlooking a sand strip that runs from Miraflores to Chorrillos districts.
